Historic East Towson

Founded by freed slaves from the Hampton Estate, East Towson grew to become a vibrant, largely African American community.

Dedicated 2017

As Lennox ends in Jefferson Avenue, note one of the original churches serving this community. Turn left (south) on Jefferson to the intersection with Towsontown Boulevard.

Turn right (west). At the intersection of York Road and Towsontowne Blvd., cross York Road to read the marker about the Ma & Pa Railroad that is on the abutment.
